CREATION OF A FOUNDATION
The artist Armand Niquille died 17 December 1996. His wife, Simone Niquille, who died 31 December 2000, respected the wishes of the artist to create a foundation in his name. The Foundation began its activities in November 2002.
PURPOSE
In accord with its statuts, the Armand Niquille Foundation aims to conserve his patrimony, by making known his oeuvre and thereby validating this Fribourg artist of prominence in the French part of Switzerland in the twentieth century who was held in high esteem in his town of Fribourg.
CREATING A CATALOGUE RAISONNE
One of the activities of the Foundation is to bring Armand Niquille’s work to the attention of a wider public attention, and thus it has undertaken the task of establishing a catalogue raisonné. In order to accomplish this project, the Foundation requests anyone who has in his possession paintings by Niquille to kindly make it known to them so that these paintings may be duly recorded among the works of the artist. Any other documents, such as photographs, correspondence, personal recollections, etc. are also welcome. All information will be treated anonymously and kept in the strictest confidence.
Please contact board member Laurence Fasel (076 412 45 52), who is the art historian responsible for the catalogue raisonné.
